Am I right? Am I? Of course I am.
I am not a planner or an organizer, despite my best efforts. (Well, intentions.) So I love it a whole lot when someone else comes up with a structured outline for me to just follow along.
I’m especially bad at planning fun things to do with my kids, and that’s why I rely on programs like Nurture Store’s Art Spark.
Yes, I know I come up with my own art projects, but I also love experimenting with other people’s ideas, especially with my kids, because they tend to follow the directions better when they are provided by someone besides me. Go figure.
So this Art Spark thingy. Want to hear more about it? It’s an online process art course put together by Cathy James of Nurture Store, who is a creative whiz and blogger extraordinaire. Plus she’s compiled some really fun ideas for kids to dig in and play with art in a very unstructured, fun way. Perfect for summertime.
The course is 4 weeks of exploring really cool art techniques PLUS she gets into ideas like talking with your kids about art, learning about famous artists, a private Facebook group, almost daily emails guiding you through the course, and it’s all super-organized yet easygoing.
It also includes 2 huge ebooks of art ideas, thoughts on the importance of art for kids, ideas for setting up an art space, art material ideas, inspiration galore, ideas for including different age groups of kids, and I’ll be surprised if you aren’t inspired to make your own art right alongside your kids throughout this course.
I’m blown away by the amount of information, inspiration, and ideas that are packed into this course (and the accompanying books). You’ll be good to go making art for long after the course is over. Enjoy!
